You may have heard that British street artist Banksy was “in-residency” in New York in October. In that time, he shared some really brilliant creative work across the boroughs. I love the range of his work — it’s not all graffiti but across media. But the graffiti turns out to be my favorites, below.

See all the work on his residency blog:, from which all these images have all been swiped.

This is my #1 fave, from his first day. “The street in in play” – in Manhattan
A close second fave – in Hell’s kitchen. The context makes the art. “Waiting in vain at the door of the club.”

Video of “The Sirens of the Lambs.” A slaughterhouse delivery truck toured the meatpacking district and then citywide. Ouch, that hurts! (refresh the page if you don’t see the video above)

Redefining tagging – putting graffiti on Broadway. At Bowery & Delancey, Lower East Side.
I don’t know why this one makes me so happy — West 79th between Broadway & Amsterdam.
“Bronx Zoo” at Yankee Stadium – the cheetah is made up of graffiti tags.

How brilliant is this guy?
