July is vacation month for me, and I usually travel to Portland, Oregon for a weeklong getaway. So the following New York Times video really resonated with me. While Portland has many wonderful neighborhoods, the Pearl might be the hippest of all of them. Home to Nike ad agency Wieden+Kennedy and lofty Ziba Design, the Pearl is a recently re-invigorated neighborhood whose old brick warehouses have been turned into green, sheen and trendy hotspots like my very own Ecotrust. While I feel hesitant about personally following these style trends, it sure was fun to wander around the Pearl checking out the hipsters and the wonderful coffee shops and restaurants.
